Police have recovered the body of an unidentified young woman from Purbachal Lake in Rupganj, Narayanganj. The body was recovered from the lake in the Baurartek area of Purbachal Sector 2 of the upazila on Tuesday (December 17) morning.

The identity of the deceased young woman has not been found. She was wearing jeans and blue winter clothes.

According to police and local sources, locals saw the body floating in the lake water around 8:30 am and informed the police. The body was later recovered.

However, the identity of the young woman could not be found immediately. Efforts are being made to identify her.

Narayanganj District Police Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Gha Circle) Md. Mehedi Islam said – The body has injury marks on various parts of the body.

The body has been sent to the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy to identify the body. The cause of death can be known after receiving the autopsy report.

He further said that an investigation is also being conducted to see if this incident took place in any other district. Because many incidents take place in different places and the bodies are brought here and dumped. As a result, the investigation is being done considering that aspect.
