Coast Guard open 7 ship for visitors on Victory Day

Bangladesh Coast Guard opens 7 ships to the public on occasion of Victory Day. Today, December 16 is the great Victory Day. Every year, this day is celebrated specially by the Bengali nation. After a long nine-month bloody war, on December 16, 1971, the Pakistani occupying forces formally surrendered to the Bengali nation, resulting in the emergence of Bangladesh as an independent and sovereign state. On this occasion, the day is celebrated every year with due dignity and solemnity and with great enthusiasm.

In view of this, on the occasion of the great Victory Day, the ships of Bangladesh Coast Guard Dhaka Zone ‘BCGS Portegrande (Chandpur Launch Ghat), ‘BCGS Shetgang’ (Munshiganj Launch Ghat), East Zone ‘BCGS Syed Nazrul’ (Patenga, Chittagong), ‘BCGS Ruposhi Bangla’ (BCG Base Chittagong), West Zone ‘BCGS Kamruzzaman (Mongla), ‘BCGS Aparajeyo Bangla’ (Khulna) and South Zone ‘BCGS Sonar Bangla’ (Elisha Ghat, Bhola) were kept open for the general public from 1400 hrs to 1630 hrs on December 16.

In continuation of this, a significant number of men and women from the area and surrounding areas came to inspect the ships from 1400 hrs today. This gave the general public an opportunity to tour the Coast Guard ships and learn about various aspects of the ships.

In addition, the responsible officials answered people’s curiosity and various questions about the ships. After learning about the ships’ deep-sea navigation and patrolling in coastal areas, rescue and search activities, prevention of illegal intrusion and smuggling, suppression of piracy, protection of fisheries and natural resources, and war tactics, everyone returned home happy and a positive image of the Bangladesh Coast Guard was revealed among the public.
