Police have arrested the father of a child named Zulfikar Jihad (6) in Rupganj, Narayanganj on charges of drowning. Police said that the deceased’s father, Zubair Hasan Himel, is mentally disturbed.

According to information from Himel, who was arrested on Tuesday (December 10) night, the body was recovered from a pond next to the Asian Highway.

The arrested Zubair Hasan Himel (30) is the son of Hanif Mia of Nagarkandi village in Narsingdi Sati Para union. And the deceased Zulfikar Jihad is his only son.

According to police and local sources, the child Jihad was left with his parents one and a half months ago due to a family dispute. Since then, Zubair has been mentally broken with the child. Meanwhile, Zubair came to Gausia area of ​​Rupganj, Narayanganj with his son last Monday in search of a job. He did not find any work anywhere. Meanwhile, after failing to fulfill his son’s various demands, Zubair got angry and killed Jihad by throwing him into a pond near Munshi Filling Station in Amlabo area on Monday evening and covering him with kachuripana. Later, on Tuesday evening, Zubair went to the Bhulta police outpost and confessed to killing his son. Later, according to the information given by Zubair, Jihad’s body was recovered from the pond.

Confirming the matter, the in-charge of Bhulta police outpost Md. Mizan said that the father of the deceased himself came and informed about the incident. According to the information given by him, the body was recovered. The body has been sent to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy. Zubair Hasan has been arrested. Preparations are underway to file a case.
