Lawyers have extorted 2 crore taka from judges. They have threatened to harm the judges in various ways with the help of the media if this huge amount of extortion is not paid. This group of lawyers has targeted more than fifty officials of the judiciary. They also provided false information that some officials of the Law Ministry are involved in this group. Lawyer Advocate Md. Ali Hasan and his senior lawyer Advocate Aminul Ehsan Zubayer are also involved in all these false activities. Some of this syndicate are already involved in various propaganda against the judges without receiving the extortion. After doing all this and not getting any results, Advocate Aminul Ehsan Zubayer filed a writ petition in the High Court seeking the removal of the remaining judges in the Writ Petition No. 15570/2024. Before filing the petition, Advocate Mohammad Ali Hasan, a junior member of the lawyer Jobair & Associates, and businessman Abdus Salam sent justice demand notices to various departments including the Ministry of Law and the ACC. However, it was Ali Hasan who demanded Tk 2 crore from the judges. In addition to this extortionist lawyer, the victimized judges have already identified two of the lawyers involved in the extortion. They are, Advocate Aminul Ehsan Jobair, Advocate Mohammad Ali Hasan. Along with the lawyers, a businessman is also involved in this extortion. His name is Abdus Salam. This Abdus Salam is known as a broker for lawyers in the court. Although his village is in Kushtia, he already has several flats in Keraniganj and Bashundhara in the capital through brokerage. It can be heard from the call record that the lawyers have also created a fund to file this petition in the court to put the judges in trouble. There is a big circle behind this fund creation. The circle is basically trying to loot the judiciary by making it controversial. Advocate Mohammad Ali Hasan is known to learned judge Md. Tofazzal Hossain as a junior of writ petitioner Advocate Aminul Ehsan Zubair. According to this source, he sent messages and voice messages on WhatsApp to Advocate Aminul Ehsan Zubair’s classmate, learned judge Tofazzal Hossain, and another learned judge Md. Tosruzzaman, demanding a large amount of money. It is informed that has received multiple call records, voice messages and screenshots of these lawyers extorting money from the judges. In a call record in our hands, Advocate Mohammad Ali Judge can be heard saying that multiple officials of the ministry are involved in this incident. But no truth has been found. Then the judge asked the lawyer for the names of those officials. But the lawyer refused to reveal the name of the judge behind the scenes. Later, the judge was heard saying, if I had known the names of the them, maybe I could have gone to the sirs and apologized if I had made a mistake. In fact, who benefits from tarnishing the image of the judiciary in the eyes of the public by accusing them on such false and fabricated charges and putting them on a media trial. And who benefits by harming us? The image of the judiciary is being tarnished in front of our families, relatives and fellow countrymen. 90 to 95% of the judges in the country live a very simple life. Moreover, even if we sell everything, we cannot arrange 2 crore taka. Advocate Aminul Ehsan Jobayer, who filed the writ petition. Advocate Mohammad Ali Hasan, a junior member of the lawyer Jobayre & Associates, and businessman Abdus Salam submitted justice demand notices to various departments including the Ministry of Law and the ACC. It was Ali Hasan who demanded Tk 2 crore from the judges. Several judges told us that in the changed situation, the lawyers involved in this gang had been making various unethical demands from the judges. They got angry when the judges could not fulfill these unethical demands legally. At one stage, they demanded a huge amount of money from the judges. When the judges refused to pay the money, the gang indulged in various forms of propaganda. Meanwhile, in this incident, Bangladesh Judicial Service Association President Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md. Zakir Hossain Ghalib and General Secretary Senior District Judge Mohammad Faruk expressed their concern in a press release and said that such activities are harmful to the image and dignity of the judiciary. One of the accused lawyers, Advocate Mohammad Ali Hasan, told us, “I have withdrawn my complaint. However, he denied the extortion of two crore taka and the call record and said, “How are you sure that this call record is mine?”
