Police have recovered 576 bullets looted from Chatkhil police station in Noakhali. They were recovered from a canal adjacent to Dashnai Togba Bridge in Ward No. 7 of Chatkhil Municipality in the upazila at around 4:15 pm on Sunday (December 8). Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chatkhil Police Station Firoz Uddin Chowdhury confirmed this information. Police said that based on a secret tip-off, the police conducted a raid in the area adjacent to Dashnai Togba Rankhola Bridge in Ward No. 7 of Chatkhil Municipality. At one stage, they recovered 566 China rifle bullets, 1 magazine and 1 wireless battery abandoned in the canal under Rankhola Bridge. It is known that miscreants set fire to Chatkhil Police Station in the afternoon after the fall of the government on August 5. At that time, weapons and ammunition were looted from the police station. So far, the police have recovered several firearms that were looted. Chatkhil Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Firoz Uddin Chowdhury said that initially 566 bullets were counted. Then 10-15 more bullets were recovered.
