Former RAB officer Alep Uddin arrested in disappearance case
On Monday (December 2), the tribunal headed by the chairman of the tribunal, Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder, gave the order. As a result, this is the first time that someone has been arrested in a disappearance case before the tribunal. The two arrested officers are former Rangamati Training Center Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohiuddin Farooqui and Barisal Range Additional Superintendent of Police Alep. Earlier, the accused were produced before the tribunal from the high security cell of Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur this morning.
On November 28, the two-member International Crimes Tribunal headed by the chairman of the International Crimes Tribunal, Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder, had ordered their production today. After the hearing that day, Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim said that numerous allegations have been found against Alep Uddin and Mohiuddin Farooqui. Based on the investigation, primary facts have been found against them. On this basis, two applications were filed in the tribunal. The court approved the two applications and ordered them to be produced. Meanwhile, it is known that Alep has illegally earned hundreds of crores of taka against him. Alep has bought about 100 acres of land, including railway land, in the China Bazar area of Rajarhat upazila of Kurigram district in the name of his younger brother Altaf. Alep has hundreds of acres of land and business establishments in his name and name, Alep bought jute worth crores of taka with Alep’s money and kept it in stock and later sold it at a higher price. If Altaf is arrested, the account of Alep’s assets will come out. The common people of Rajarhat China Bazar area demanded the intelligence agencies including the Superintendent of Police of Kurigram district to arrest Alep’s brother Altaf, a former RAB officer, without delay and bring him under the law.
