Allegations of misuse of power and nepotism against the chairman in Kishoreganj

In Kishoreganj of Nilphamari, allegations of abuse of power, dishonest behavior and nepotism have been made against Jonab Ali, a supporter of Awami League and chairman of Garagram Union Parishad.
Last Thursday (November 28) afternoon, a written complaint was filed against the UP Chairman, signed by some UP members along with the Deputy Commissioner and Upazila Executive Officer.
According to the written complaint, Jonab Ali, the chairman of the Garagram Union Parishad supported by the ousted Awami League government, has been involved in various irregularities and corruption since his election. He has embezzled T-R, Kabikha allocation money, winter clothes, VGF, among his relatives instead of distributing it among the people as per his wish.
It is also said that instead of conducting the judicial system of rural township of the parishad in the village court, he took a large amount of bribe by conducting the trial in his village house. Not only that, he has embezzled the said project without working on it.
Complainants said that the chairman does everything according to his own will. He never takes our advice and misbehaves with us when we ask about irregularities in various works. As he is supported by Awami League, he embezzled the money without doing the various allocations of the Parishad We demand fair trial for his various irregularities and corruption.
Garagram Union Parishad Chairman Jonab Ali said, I cannot say why they are doing this against me. However, these allegations are false and fabricated.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mausumi Haque said that a written complaint has been received in this regard and action will be taken after investigation.
