More than two hundred workers are on strike and protesting in Gazaria, Munshiganj, alleging that workers were unfairly dismissed.
They started the protest by stopping the work of the Hasan Rubber Factory in the Puran Bausia area adjacent to the Dhaka-Chittagong highway from 8 am on Wednesday (November 27) and standing in front of the main gate.
The factory authorities expressed their unwillingness to talk to local media personnel about the matter.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kohinoor Akhter said, “We have no say if the authority dismissed anyone for violating the factory rules. My representative is present at the scene.”
