While collecting information, Amtali Upazila correspondent HM Russell of Dainik Bhorer Dak was attacked by terrorists. The injured journalist Russell was rescued by locals and taken to Amtoli Upazila Health Complex. The doctors of that hospital sent him to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital for better treatment. Russell is undergoing treatment at Patuakhali Medical College Hospital.
A protest meeting was held on Saturday at the initiative of Amtali Journalists Union in this incident. The incident took place at Bat Tola bus stand in Amtali municipality on Friday night.

Some eyewitnesses who did not want to be named said that more than a hundred terrorists led by Rahat Fakir, the younger son of former Amtoli Upazila BNP president Jalal Ahmed Fakir, carried out a rampage at the bus stand with country-made weapons. The terrorists vandalized 8 counters of the bus stand and locked them. At that time, when the journalist went to record video and take pictures, the terrorists hacked and injured him.
