The former players renovated the unsuitable playing field in Matlab North

The traditional playground at Chhengarchar Government Model High School in Matlab Uttar Upazila of Chandpur was in poor condition and unfit for sports for a long time. As the field is unfit, the local youth including school children are not able to play sports. In this situation, Chhengarchar Municipal Sports Council, Chhengarchar Government Degree College student body and former players took the initiative to reform the soil.
It is known that this is the only playground in Chhengarchar municipal area. This field has many traditions. Many famous players of the country have played here. Big tournaments have been played here. But on different sides of the field there are car parks, makeshift shops and animal stalls sitting in this field every year during Qurbani Eid. Due to which the field becomes unfit for play. Since the last Eid al-Adha, all kinds of sports were closed in this field. Chengarchar Municipal Sports Council, Chengarchar Government College students and former players took the initiative to renovate the playground after the game was stopped for a long time. Chhengarchar municipality is given a small allocation for field renovation. Entrepreneurs have started renovating the field with money from allocation money and their own personal funds.
On Tuesday (November 19) morning, Ashek Mahmud Sangram, convenor of Chhengarchar municipal volunteer team and former player, former convenor of municipal student body was seen in the playground. Rajib, former player Palash Sarkar, Chhengarchar Govt. Degree College Chhatra Dal convener Abdur Rahman Munna, municipal Chhatra Dal president Shakeel Khan, former player Md. Mithu, municipal Chhatra Dal leader Roman, Tushar, Maruf, Jewel, Rabbi along with Chhengarchar Municipal Sports Council, Degree College Chhatra Dal leaders are working on field renovation.
Abdur Rahman Munna, convenor of Chhengarchar Government Degree College Chhatra Dal, said that in order to make the unsuitable playground useful, we are constructing pieces for playing cricket on behalf of the Degree College Chhatra Dal, cleaning the garbage around the field. Hopefully, within a few days, this traditional ground will again become suitable for playing.
Former player Ashek Mahmud Sangram and Md. Rajiv said, the field was unsuitable for playing for a long time. So we former players and members of Chhengarchar Municipal Sports Council started the work of renovating the field. In this, we have been given a small allocation by Chhengarchar municipality. And we have arranged funding from our personal side to renovate the ground. A huge cricket tournament will be organized on this ground after the renovation of the ground.
