Direct sea communication with Norway can be started

Adviser on Shipping, Textiles and Jute Brigadier General (retd) Dr. M Sakhawat Hossain has called for the establishment of direct maritime communication between Bangladesh and Norway. Norwegian Ambassador to Bangladesh Haakon Arald Gulbrandsen met with the Adviser on Shipping, Textiles and Jute at the Ministry of Shipping on Sunday (November 10) morning. The advisor made this call during the meeting.
The advisor said that the government has been successfully conducting maritime trade with the outside world through Chittagong port and other sea ports. The important export destinations from Bangladesh are European Union countries. The export of various Bangladeshi products especially RMG (Readymade Garments) products to the European Union market is continuously increasing. Bangladesh’s export of various products to Norway has also increased at a noticeable rate.
