No one has been killed in the accident
The students walking on the road suffered an accident when they came to appear in the Navy examination.
It is reported that three students were seriously injured when a private car ran over them on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in front of the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
Airport Police Inspector OC Ershad Ahmed said that the driver of the car, Mostafizur Rahman, was arrested after the incident on Sunday afternoon.
He said, “The seven students were walking towards the airport after the Navy field test when the left side wheel of a sedan car exploded and the car ran over the students on the road. Three students (Hamarul, Mamunur Rashid, Nur Alam) were seriously injured. They have been sent to Paralympic Hospital.” The police authorities at the airport confirmed the news that the remaining four (Fazle Rabbi, Atiq, Sompod Sen, Rakib) suffered minor injuries.
A video of the accident has already gone viral on Facebook, showing a group of students walking along the road in front of the airport’s Terminal 3. At that time, a private car hit them from behind. Later, people from the neighborhood were seen coming forward.
So far, there have been serious injuries but no one has been killed in the accident.
OC Ershad Ahmed Rahman said, “After the incident, we seized the private car and arrested the owner of the car. The businessman was driving himself. No one was with him. He has a driving license.”
In response to a question, he said that the incident was not planned, the accident occurred due to bursting of the left side wheel.
