DD Touhidul Hossain of CTG BRTA has been transferred
Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Chittagong Metro Circle-1 Deputy Director (DD) Mohammad Touhidul Hossain has been transferred to Mymensingh Divisional Office.
This transfer order was issued in an order signed by (BRTA) Deputy Director (Administration) Ripon Kumar Shah on October 14. In the same order, Dhaka Metro Circle 1 Deputy Director (Eng.) Rafiqul Islam has been transferred to Barisal Divisional Office.
Immediate implementation of this order is directed in public interest. According to (BRTA) sources, Mohammad Touhidul Hossain joined Chittagong BRTA on November 7, 2014 as Assistant Director. Although it was decided to transfer him several times, he remained in Chittagong for a long time. Although he was transferred to the headquarters on August 13, 2018, he returned to Chittagong only two months later with the help of senior officials. Returning to Chittagong, he supervised the autorickshaw replacement program and has been serving here for almost a decade.
According to (BRTA) service policy guidelines, if an officer has been working in first class (a) circles such as Dhaka, Chittagong, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Sylhet circles for more than three years, he is liable to be transferred to Mafswal (d) circle. However, Touhidul Hossain has been serving in the Chittagong office for a long time, ignoring several transfer orders.
Sources also said that there are several allegations against Touhidul Hossain, one of which is irregularities in the scrapping process, allegations of transactions and obtaining financial benefits by influencing autorickshaw license renewal. Under his leadership, allegations of irregularities of hundreds of crores of rupees have been raised in the scrapping and license renewal process. However, with the direct blessings of Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Ubaidul Quader, he remained in Chittagong.
Experts believe that he has been transferred to Mymensingh as part of the various steps taken recently to change the government and reform the state. As part of good governance and anti-corruption policy, this transfer has been decided to ensure transparency in important institutions like BRTA. In the interests of the people and to increase the transparency and service of the institution, this order will be implemented immediately, the concerned said.
