Chittagong port will not invite tenders through DPM method

M Sakhawat Hossain, Advisor to the Ministry of Shipping and Textiles and Jute, said, “Foreign investment will not be taken without national interest, but if foreign investment is discouraged, no one will want to come.” Currently Patenga Container Terminal foreign operator is earning 18 dollars per container through RSGT. Sakhawat Hossain mentioned that the work of increasing the mobility of the port is going on and said that it is not possible without automation to reduce the time in container handling. He further said
Chittagong port is the life line of Bangladesh. If the kind of mismanagement that existed here is not removed, our import and export trade will be threatened. That is why I came to visit Chittagong port. I have spoken to all concerned including the chairman, members of the port.

At this time, he requested the media workers to highlight all the irregularities, corruption and mismanagement in any sector.
