The only wooden option to cross due to the rapid flow of water has given way in the middle due to the shifting of the ground under the poles of the bridge. Apart from this, the garbage and garbage floating in the stream has become more dangerous by getting stuck on the poles. Thousands of people from both sides are moving through that road at risk.
In such a situation, due to the continuous rains of the last few days and the strong current of the river coming down from the upstream, the soil at the base of the Sankor bamboo pole has shifted and given way to the middle. As a result, Sankoti has become a risk for public movement. However, some workers on behalf of the contractor company are trying to eliminate the risk by removing garbage and garbage stuck in the bag.
A major accident can occur at any time if the belt is not repaired quickly. The bridge was built in the 1960s at a place called Baramanik of Chota Yamuna river which flows along the city boundary of Panchbibi Upazila of Joypurhat district. Which is known as Mauritala Bridge. Because the bridge is more dangerous for traffic, the local government engineering department demolished the risky bridge and started construction of a new bridge of 90.06 meters length at the beginning of this year at a cost of about Tk 9.5 million. Until the construction of the bridge is completed, the bridge construction contractor has constructed a ramp made of bamboo and wood to facilitate the crossing of common people, van-rickshaws and motorcycles.

Local Government Engineering Directorate Joypurhat District Executive Engineer Alauddin said that due to the heavy water flow, the ground under the Sanko has become somewhat dangerous, in which case the Sanko is necessary to keep it open for public traffic. Necessary action will be taken very soon.
