Amtali municipality former panel mayor, upazila Awami League member Mir Md. Habibur Rahman has resigned from the Awami League membership. The Upazila Awami League president sent his resignation letter to former mayor Matiar Rahman on Sunday afternoon. He said that he resigned because he did not like the party structure and organizational activities and was attacked by the top leaders of the party. His resignation has caused mixed reactions among Amtali Upazila Awami League leaders and activists.

Habib said, I did not get any remedy from the party due to various attacks and lawsuits.

Amtali Upazila Awami League General Secretary GM Osmani Hasan said, I do not know anything about this yet.

Amtali Upazila Awami League president and former mayor Matiar Rahman said, if someone resigns, nothing will happen to a big party like Awami League.
