The water in Kaptai Lake is now at danger level. However, considering the overall situation, the authorities said that they will try their best not to release the water. Today, Saturday (August 24) at 3 pm, the manager of Kaptai dam and water power plant, ATM Abduzzah, told Morning Glory that the water level in the lake is 107.53 feet MSL till 2:05 pm on Saturday (August 24). He said the water holding capacity of Kaptai Lake is 109 feet Mean Sea Level (MSL). Considering the overall flood situation of Chittagong at this moment, the authorities will try their best not to release the water of Kaptai Lake. If there is no continuous heavy rain, we hope the situation can be kept under control Inshallah.Water will be released only if it goes out of control.
