Interim Government has our full support: Amir Khusro
Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the BNP Standing Committee while visiting the injured in the anti-discrimination movement at Chittagong Medical said, “We are all supporting the interim government.” Because the basic structures and institutions that have been destroyed in this change have to be brought back on a track. So we have full support. And hope they can do the work ahead as soon as possible.
He said these things in response to the questions of journalists when he went to see the injured people who were undergoing treatment during the protest of anti-discrimination students at Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Sunday (August 18) afternoon.
He visited different wards of the hospital and spoke to those injured in the anti-discrimination student movement and inquired about their families. Earlier in the afternoon, he visited the ISKCON temple at the city’s Prawartak Mor. The ISKCON promoter spoke to the principal of the Sri Krishna temple and inquired about the overall situation. Later he visited the Ramakrishna temple near Oscar Dighi. After coming from Dhaka to Chittagong in the morning, he addressed the leaders and activists present in front of Mehdi Bagh’s house.
At Chittagong Medical, he said, the indiscriminate firing on the student crowd during the movement is very painful. It’s a wonder they’re still alive. The condition of many is still complicated, going through difficult times. All of their family work is off. They are all awaiting trial. We do not think in political life, such indiscriminate shootings are going on in the history of Bangladesh. Those who are injured are still alive by the grace of Allah. There is also a matter of how they will spend the rest of their lives. Many of them will not be able to walk properly. Can’t live a normal life. So even if they survive, they will not be able to lead a normal life.
During this time, he questioned who will take responsibility for the injured and said that many people have become blind. Many lost their legs and many were paralyzed. They cannot walk. To free the nation from such a miserable situation, there is a matter of their rehabilitation. And the nation also has a matter of resettlement. We have never seen anything like the state we have reached. We will see a new Bangladesh only if Bangladesh can move forward in return for their sacrifice.
In the afternoon at ISKCON temple and Radhakrishna temple, he said, Begum Khaleda Zia has clearly told us that BNP does not believe in any word that it is a minority. Because the constitution of Bangladesh has declared everyone as a Bangladeshi citizen. The constitution of Bangladesh has given equal rights to every citizen in all religious, social and political fields. All those living within the borders of Bangladesh should be treated equally. It is not only the responsibility of the state to ensure this. Those who do politics and social policy are the responsibility of all, of all religions. I will say from here that if any Hindu temple is attacked in Chittagong, we will have to take responsibility for it. But this responsibility cannot be avoided. As far as I know, no temple has been attacked or attacked in Chittagong city. I have been in touch with our leaders from Dhaka all the time. I inquired about the temple. The committee has also been made, they have also sent me pictures. I monitored from there.
He said, we do not do identity politics. We are all Bangladeshis. There is no politics with identity. If we have to do politics in Bangladesh by bringing another identity, then those who will do politics with that identity will suffer the most. We have to understand this. Because there is no other chance to move away from our sense of brotherhood, communal spirit, spirit and thought of our liberation war, harmony and mutual respect. And on that logic dismissed a dictatorship He smashed everything. From that thought and desire, the people have driven away the corrupter of autocracy. A bad image has been created in the politics of Bangladesh through identity politics. Everyone should refrain from that. The image of politics that is being used by you is harmful and not beneficial.
He said to the leaders and activists present in front of the Mehdi Bagh house in the morning, the things that Awami League has done cannot be done. Extortion cannot be done. Friendship with Awami League cannot be divided. Awami League cannot join hands. Now politics will be the politics of ideals. Political ideals should be followed, relations with the people should be increased. People should be on the side. Then our new freedom will succeed. Be patient and united. No grouping will be allowed. Now many are trying to come to BNP to take advantage of opportunities. Be careful about them. Hindu-Buddhist-Christian can’t lay hands on anyone. They are citizens of Bangladesh, the neighbors should stand by them.
