Murder case against Sheikh Hasina, Nofel and 34 More
A case of murder has been registered in Chandgaon police station of Chittagong in connection with the killing of HSC candidate Tanveer Chiddiqui of Ashekan Aulia Degree College during the anti-discrimination student movement. In the case, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Education Minister Barrister Mohibul Hasan Naufel have been made accused of the order. On Friday (August 16) night, Tanveer Chiddiki’s uncle Md. Parvez filed this case in Chandgao police station as the plaintiff.
It is to be noted that he was killed in a clash between two sides during the Bahaddarhat anti-discrimination student movement at Chandangao police station in the city on August 18. In addition to Sheikh Hasina and Mohibul Hasan Naufel, the names of 34 people including three councilors of Chittagong Metropolitan Awami League, Jubo League, Chhatra League and Chittagong City Corporation were mentioned in the murder case on Friday night. Another 40 to 50 people have been made unidentified accused.
Other notable defendants are, Chittagong Metropolitan Awami League leader Babar Ali, Chittagong Metropolitan Awami League Forest and Environment Affairs Secretary Moshiur Rahman Chowdhury, Chittagong Metropolitan Chhatra League former general secretary Nurul Azim Roni, Chittagong City Corporation Ward No. 4 Councilor Md. Esrarul Haque, Jamalkhan Ward Councilor Shaibal Das Sumon and Chowkbazar Ward Councilor Noor Mostafa Tinu.
Zahidul Kabir, officer-in-charge of Chandgaon police station, told Morning Glory that a case of murder has been filed in connection with the death of HSC candidate Tanveer Chiddiki of Aulia Degree College during the anti-discrimination student movement in Chittagong. Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Education Minister Barrister Mohibul Hasan Naufel have been named as 34 people and unknown 40 to 50 people have been accused in the case.
The deceased was Tanveer Chiddiki (19), son of Badsha Mia of Noor Ahmed Bari, Kalamarchhara Nayapara, Maheshkhali Upazila, Cox’s Bazar District.
