Orientation on Reintegration of Returned Migrant Workers in Kumarkhali

Orientation for reintegration of repatriated migrant workers has been completed keeping in mind the motto “Returned Migrants are here even if they come back”.
Informing the activities of Recovery And Advancement Of Informal Sector Employment (RAISE): Reintegration Of Returning Migrants, supporting the creation of employment in the informal sector for the purpose of reintegration of returning migrant workers and the orientation titled “Role of RAISE project in the reintegration of repatriated migrant workers” was completed.
June 20, 2024 / 06 Ashar, 1431 Thursday at 3.00 pm in Kumarkhali Upazila Parishad meeting place of Kushtia. Upazila Administration, Kumarkhali and Welfare Center, Kushtia organized Wage Earners Welfare Board, Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment to organize orientation for the workers of various professions returning from abroad. is During this time, the expatriates who returned abroad highlighted their experiences, sufferings, facilities and various problems.
Md Gheas Uddin (Deputy Secretary) Director (IRP), Wage Earners Welfare Board was the chief guest in the orientation under the chairmanship of Upazila Executive Officer S M Mikhail Islam.
Md. Abu Sayeed, Assistant Director, Welfare Center, Kushtia, Md. Alamgir Hossain, Upazila Animal Resources Officer, Kumarkhali, Ferdous Nazneen, Upazila Women Affairs Officer, Gazi Hasan Tarequk Biplab, Chairman, Shilaidah Union Parishad and others were also present.
Assistant Director, Welfare Center, Kushtia, Md. Abu Sayeed conducted the orientation meeting and keynote was presented by Chief Guest Md. Gheas Uddin (Deputy Secretary), Director (IRP), Wage Earners Welfare Board.
At this time, the chief guest said in his speech that we are working for various types of facilities, advice, training and re-employment of expatriates. Our main aim is to cooperate with various types of government facilities including low cost foreign travel, financial benefits. We are always at your side for all kinds of facilities and advice for traveling abroad and beyond.
In this age of modern technology, if we are not able to send our willing remittance fighters abroad with modern training, I think it will be a huge failure for us. Today where as Sri Lanka, India, Philippines, Indonesia send their trained citizens abroad they are way ahead of us. Realizing this matter, the Honorable Prime Minister has been taking and implementing special steps to develop technical training centers, youth development and vocational education systems so that before sending our remittance fighters abroad, they can acquire skills and go abroad. Besides, he mentioned in his speech that he has arranged various trainings and employment for those who want to do something on their own after coming back to the country.
In his speech, he also highlighted the various activities of the Wage Earners Welfare Board of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment for expatriates and urged them to contact the toll and charge free number 16135 for any information and assistance related to immigration.

In the president’s speech, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) S M Mikhail Islam said, through today’s seminar, we got to know about the work of the Wage Earners Welfare Board of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment, what benefits our expatriates can get through them. And if we tell all these things through propaganda from our respective places, our diaspora brothers will get many benefits. He mentioned that we should send skilled and trained people abroad to increase our remittance flow.
At the end of the program, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) S M Mikhail Islam handed over the crest of honor to the chief guest and the guests handed over stipend checks to the children of expatriates.
