Chief of Army opens Sheikh Jamal Tigers Museum in CTG

Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed has inaugurated the Sheikh Jamal Tigers Museum at the East Bengal Regimental Centre in Chattogram Cantonment.

Martyr Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal, the second son of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, joined the 2nd East Bengal Regiment in 1975 after getting commissioned from the ‘Royal Military Academy Sandhurst’.

On August 15, 1975, Jamal was also martyred, along with his father and other members of his family. To preserve his memory, the ‘Sheikh Jamal Tigers Museum’ has been built at the East Bengal Regimental Centre, said an ISPR press release.

The museum has been built to properly preserving the glorious 76 years of history of the East Bengal Regiment, including the Liberation War, the priceless artefacts that have witnessed the evolution of time and presenting them to future generations.

Chief of Army General Staff, General Officer Commanding of Training and Doctrine Command, Quartermaster General of the Army, Adjutant General of the Army, General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division, Area Commander of Chattogram, Chief Consultant General, AD, HOC, CSC, Commandant of the East Bengal Regimental Centre as well as senior army officers of Chattogram, JCOs, other army personnel and civil servants were present.
