Shootings of drug dealers with BGB in Cox’s Bazar; Died 1

A gunfight took place between the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and drug smugglers at Naikhongchari border in Morichyachar area of Gorznia Union of Ramu Upazila of Cox’s Bazar. A young man named Nezam Uddin was killed.The incident happened on Monday (June 3) around 5 am. BGB Public Relations Officer Shariful Islam confirmed the firing. BGB did not confirm the fact that one person was injured in the incident. According to BGB, BGB was able to seize 98 cartoon Burmese cigarettes and 20,000 pieces of yaba in an operation based on secret information. Bashir Ahmad, the father of the deceased Nezam Uddin, said that his house is in Khurushkul Union of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila. He said, my son is going to visit Naikshyongchari the next day. Talked with him last night too. Later heard that he was killed in a shootout with the BGB. His body arrived this morning.
