Police rescued two bear cubs of an endangered species at Alikadam in Bandarban.At this time,the police arrested a young man named Md Alauddin for wildlife trafficking.Police Superintendent of Bandarban Shaikat Shahin confirmed this in a press conference on Tuesday (April 2).

Superintendent of Police Shaikat Shahin said that on the basis of secret information,the police conducted an operation on Alikadam- Chakaria road in Shibatali Para area of Upazila No.2 Chaiksheng UP Ward No.2.At that time,when a motorcyclist named Md. Alauddin was searched,two bear cubs were found unconscious in a bag on his bike.Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Saikat Shaheen,the operation was led by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Alikadam Police Station,Khandkar Tabidur Rahman along with a smart team of police.

At that time,the police seized the motorcycle for wildlife trafficking.The Superintendent of Police also mentioned that discussions are going on with the Forest Department regarding the release of the rescued bear cubs in Chakaria Safari Park.Besides,it is reported that the police are trying to prevent wildlife trafficking from the forest area of Bandarban.
