The fire in the raw market section of Rupganj Gauchia Market in Narayanganj was brought under control after two hours of efforts. No one was injured in this incident. However, more than a hundred shops were burnt.

The fire was brought under control around 6 am on Sunday (March 24). 8 fire service units worked to control the fire. Now dumping is going on.

According to the fire service and local sources, the fire broke out in the raw market part of Gauchia Market around 3:30 pm. Later, several units of fire service came and started working and brought the fire under control. The fire was brought under control around 6:30 am. About a hundred shops were burnt in this incident.

Deputy Assistant Director of Narayanganj Fire Service Fakhar Uddin Ahmed said, our 8 units worked and brought the fire under control. Now dumping is going on.

Fire Service (Dhaka Division) Deputy Director and Incident Commander Md Saleh Uddin said that a total of 8 units of Adamji EPZ and Demra Fire Station worked to control the fire. Now dumping is going on. The fire is now under control. There is no possibility of fire spreading. No one was injured in this incident. The cause of the fire and the amount of damage will be known after the investigation.
