ACC has found the truth of the corruption of senior officials from the annual income of the Chittagong-based Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL). Although he has been looting for years, this is the first time he has been caught in the investigation of the Anti-Corruption Commission.

On Thursday (March 21) afternoon, the ACC conducted a raid on the office of Administrative Officer General Manager Mozahar Ali at the KGDCL office in Chittagong’s sixteen cities. During the operation, it was seen that 15 lakh taka was looted without any voucher on one birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The preliminary investigation showed that the irregularities of about Tk 2 crore in the fiscal year 2019-2020, Tk 2 crore 32 lakh in the fiscal year 2020-2021, Tk 1 crore 55 lakh in the fiscal year 2021-2022 and lastly Tk 5 crore 20 lakh in the fiscal year 2022-2023 have been found. Also during the operation, the ACC found the embezzlement of Worker Participation Profit Fund (WPPF), Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) and interest amounting to at least Tk 2 crore 75 lakh in the fiscal year 2021/22.
