Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested 38 brokers by raiding various wards of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMC). Out of this, the mobile court of the district administration sentenced 14 people to a fine of 10 thousand taka, 24 to 1 month rigorous imprisonment and a fine of 5 thousand taka.

This operation was conducted in various wards including ward number 32 of the hospital on Wednesday (March 20) morning.

RAB-7 CO Lieutenant Colonel Mahbub Alam said that based on secret information, the RAB team raided various wards of the hospital. At this time, 38 people were arrested. Bed and Ward Syndicate, Medicine Syndicate, Ambulance Syndicate are active in the hospital. They lure the patients with various lures. They lure patients mainly because of commission trade.

He said that the issue of the broker has been discussed with the hospital authorities. If any of the detainees are hospital employees, they will be handed over to the hospital authorities. Legal action will be taken against those who are real brokers.
