Poultry and fish feed are made from toxic tannery waste in Chaktai Chattogram

The traveling court of the district administration fined three companies Tk 3.5 lakh for the crime of making poultry feed and fish food from toxic tannery waste, making semai in unsanitary environment and selling unfit pulses by breaking them into packets.
District Administration Executive Magistrate Prateek Dutta conducted the raid in Chaktai area of the city on Thursday (March 14) afternoon.
It is known that in the raid, the manager of the Chaktai Kalam Saudagar factory was accused of making chicken and fish food with chromium – containing tannery waste, which is harmful to the human body. Abu Taleb was fined Tk 2 lakh. At the same time, these poisonous foods are ordered to be destroyed within three days.
Besides, Sujan Chowdhury, manager of Lucky Dal Mill, was fined Tk 1 lakh. Building owner Mohammad Miah was fined Tk 50,000 for dangerously installing a stove on the ground floor of a residential building in an unsanitary environment.
When contacted, Deputy Commissioner Abul Basar said. Fakhruzzaman told that if anyone conducts dishonest activities in the hope of gaining more profit during the holy month of Ramadan, they will not be given any exemption. Our intelligence agencies are active. Action will be taken wherever complaints are found.
