Anti-corruption operation in chattogram BRTA office, 4 brokers arrested

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Chattogram Divisional Office has been raided by Anti Corruption Commission (ACC). On Thursday (February 15) at noon, a three-member team of ACC led by Enamul Haque, assistant director of (ACC) Chittagong Integrated District Office-1, conducted the raid. Four brokers were caught and handed over to the police.
Assistant Director of ACC Enamul Haque, who led the operation, said that the operation was conducted in the afternoon in view of complaints of customer harassment and violence by brokers for providing various services at (BRTA) Chattogram office.
At the beginning of the operation, the enforcement team disguised itself as a customer and found the presence of the brokers. Meanwhile, the (ACC) team arrested four brokers and three (BRTA) employees red-handed. There is evidence of unusual financial transactions with them directly with different service recipients.
The enforcement team produced the arrested four brokers before the Deputy Director (Eng.) Syed Ainul Huda Chowdhury of the Divisional Office and handed them over to the police in the presence of the Executive Magistrate. Moreover, the (ACC) team was informed that legal departmental action will be taken against the concerned employees if the involvement of (BRTA) office employees is reported to the authorities.
