CMP serving with devotion, sincerity and pride: IGP

Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has been serving with dedication, integrity, and pride for the last 45 years, said Inspector General of Police Abdullah Al Mamun BP (Bar) PPM. He expressed gratitude for the CMP’s continuous service to the residents of the city.

In a ceremony marking the 45th anniversary of CMP, the Inspector General of Police emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity and dedication in providing services to the citizens. He mentioned that the police force is prepared to continue serving with sincerity and commitment in the future.

The event witnessed the presence of special guests, including Dr. Tauba Musarrat Jahan Choudhury, President of Bangladesh Police Women Welfare Association (PUNAK). The Police Commissioner of CMP, Khandaker Lutful Kabir, BP (Bar), PPM (Bar), along with the Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation and various other dignitaries, were also present.

The Inspector General of Police highlighted the growth and capability enhancement of the Bangladesh Police under the leadership of the current Prime Minister. He acknowledged the significant increase in police personnel, contributing to effective crime control.

Reflecting on the past, he mentioned the challenges the country faced with militancy and terrorism before the current Prime Minister took office. Southern and southwestern regions were particularly affected, facing bombings and terrorist activities. However, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Bangladesh Police successfully tackled extremism and terrorism.

He noted the improvement in solving previously unsolvable cases, emphasizing the importance of active law enforcement in maintaining discipline. Due to the rule of law in the country, people’s confidence and income have increased.

The Inspector General expressed hope for a prosperous and smart Bangladesh in the future, commending the relentless efforts of every member of the police force in contributing to this vision. He thanked the honorable residents of Chittagong for their cooperation and support.

Before the ceremony, the Inspector General inaugurated the newly built naval investigation center on Dangar Char under the Karnaphuli police station in Chittagong. He toured various parts of the naval investigation center and signed the inspection book.

During this time, Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Krishna Pad Ray, CMP Range DIG Nurul Alam Mina, and CMP and Range senior officers were also present.
