AL worker killed in Durgapur

An Awami League worker named Mojibur Rahman (55) was killed and at least 14 others were injured in an attack by opponents in Durgapur of Netrokona. The murder took place in the South Bhabanipur area of the city on Sunday afternoon. He is the son of deceased Suruj Ali of Naljora village of upazila.
According to the police and locals, a clash took place on Sunday with the son of Kullagarh UP Chairman Abdul Awal and the nephew of the deceased Mujibur Rahman. As a result of this, there was a huge conflict between the two sides.
When Mojibur Rahman, seriously injured in the clash, was taken to the Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
On the other hand, seriously injured Abdur Rashid (45) and Muksedur Rahman (45) were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for better treatment. Khairul (20), Farooq Mia (23), Naeem Mia (20), Sagar (22) and the rest of the injured were released after primary treatment.
Rakibul Hasan, the doctor on duty, said that Mojibur Rahman was brought dead to the hospital by his people.
OC (Investigation) Nurul Alam said that one person named Mojibur Rahman was killed in the attack of the opponent. His body has been sent to Netrakona Mortuary for post-mortem. Police are deployed in the area to prevent chaos.
