“Tanvir Hayder” shines as the new director of Brothers Union…

Tanvir Hayder, a prominent sports organizer and a familiar face in Chittagong, has taken charge as the director of Brothers Union in Chittagong. Founded in 1984, this club has played a significant role in the sports arena of Chittagong. It once boasted stars like Tamim Iqbal and many other cricketers. Notable players like Nafis Iqbal, Aftab, Naeem Hasan, and Yasin Ali Rabbi are also associated with this club.
Recently, Tanvir Hayder has assumed the responsibility of director in the club. With this role, he envisions taking Brothers Union Chittagong further ahead in the realm of sports. He has expressed gratitude to A. J. M. Nasir Uddin, the Chairman of Brothers Union Chittagong and the General Secretary  of Chittagong District Sports Association (CJKS), as well as Wahidul Alam Shimul, another prominent sports organizer and the director of the organization.
In an interview with The Daily Morning Glory, Tanvir Hayder said, “Although cricket is immensely popular in Bangladesh, our primary focus is on promoting sports across various disciplines, including football, kabaddi, volleyball, hockey, basketball, and more.”
Regarding nurturing talented players from rural areas, he mentioned, “I want a centralization of sports emphasis, especially effective initiatives to bring up cricketers from the grassroots level. In this regard, it is essential for our district-based sports organizations to be more active, and clubs must play a significant role.”
Tanvir Hayder dreams of establishing Brothers Union Chittagong as a force to be reckoned with nationally and internationally. He stated, “In 2008, we became champions in the PCL in Dubai, and we have participated in many other events. We are preparing to compete and strive for the championship in the upcoming Premier Cricket League starting on  22 February.
Furthermore, Tanvir Hayder currently serves as the General Secretary  for the Cricket Committee of Brothers Union Chottogram  for the 2024-25 term.”
