52nd National School, Madrasah and Technical Education Winter Sports Competition 2024 has started in Chapainawabganj. Deputy Commissioner AKM Galiv Khan auspiciously started the opening ceremony by blowing balloons at the Old Stadium in the district city on Tuesday (January 23) at the initiative of the District Education Office.

In the speech of the chief guest, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized on increasing sports practice in all educational institutions including schools, madrasas and he expressed hope that through this sports competition, qualified players will be prepared to compete at the national level.

Chairman of Chapainawabganj Zilla Parishad Brave freedom fighter Md. Ruhul Amin, UNO of Sadar Upazila Mst. Tashmina Khatun and District Education Officer Md. Abdur Rashid spoke as special guests on the occasion under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Md. Anisur Rahman.

Sadar Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Amirul Islam, Shibganj Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Zainul Abedin, Collectorate Green View High School Head Master Roksana Ahmad, Lakshipur High School Assistant Teacher Md. Ashraful Islam and others were also present.

Students of different educational institutions of five Upazila of Chapainawabganj district participated in the winter sports competition.

The competition will end on Thursday (January 25) with the distribution of prizes to the winners.
