Sunamganj-4 (Sunamganj Sadar – Biswambharpur) won a huge vote with the boat symbol Dr. Mohammad Sadiq The former chairman of PSC participated in the parliamentary elections for the first time after receiving the nomination of Awami League’s boat symbol. Dr. Mohammad Sadiq was elected by a huge margin. He is a two-time MP Adv. Pir Fazlur Rahman was elected Member of Parliament by defeating Misbah by a margin of 58 thousand 634 votes. Through this, Awami League regained the seat after a long time.
According to the information provided by the District Returning Office, based on the results of the center of Sunamganj-4 constituencies, Dr. Mohammad Sadiq got 90 thousand 590 votes and his nearest rival Pir Fazlur Rahman Misbah got 31 thousand 721 votes. Moreover, among the candidates of other parties from this seat, Enamul Kabir Imon with eagle symbol got 126 votes, Dewan Shamchul Abedin of BNM party got 187 votes, Md. of National People’s Party. Dilawar got 400 votes, another independent candidate of Awami League Mubarak Hossain got 1 thousand 477 votes. Vote cast in this seat is 36.35 percent.
District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Sunamganj Mohammad Rashed Iqbal Chowdhury said, according to the information received from all centers, Awami League nominated candidate in Sunamganj-4 seat. Mohammad Sadiq was declared the winner unofficially with the boat symbol.
