RAB has arrested Shamim Azad nickname ( Black Shamim) who openly raised his fire-gun and fired during election clashes in Pahartali area of port city Chottogram. The weapon used by Shamim is also recovered.

He was arrested from Sitakunda on Monday night (8th January).

RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Mohammad Nurul Abshar has confirmed the matter to the media.
Earlier on Sunday around 10:30 am on polling day, there was a clash between the supporters of Awami League candidate Mohiuddin Bachchu and independent candidate M Manjur Alam outside the Pahartali Degree College Centre. At that time, a young man was seen raising a pistol in front of Manjur Alam’s election camp and firing. That photo spread on social media. The young man was later identified as Shamim Azad local people response as Black Shamim or Blade Shamim. Shanto Barua and Md. Two people named Jamal were shot. Between them one was Kiksha puller.
