Director General of RAB M Khurshid Hossain has warned that anyone who wants to create a conflict situation or disorder in the elections will be severely suppressed. If someone wants to vote and someone prevents it, we will take maximum action in that case. Who wins and who loses is not our concern. Our mission is to support fair elections.
He said these things at a press briefing after distributing winter clothes to the poor and needy at RAB-7’s headquarters in North Patenga Steel Mill Bazar in the city on Sunday (December 31). He also said that voting is the constitutional right of the people. But if someone doesn’t want to vote, that’s up to him. Maximum measures will be taken to ensure the security of those who come to vote.
He said in response to the question that there have been clashes in several constituencies including Patia, Bashkhaliu, Sitkund and what action has been taken regarding the risky constituencies. The RAB will work in coordination with the Election Strike Force. There is no threat around the election yet but the dangerous constituencies have already been identified and kept under special surveillance.
