Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said that we are all trying to create a favorable environment for competition in the elections, including the candidates. We believe the election will be competitive and the voters will turn out. We have this belief and conviction.
On Wednesday (20 December) at around 11:30 a.m. at Rajshahi Circuit House, he said these things to the reporters after exchanging views with the candidates for the 12th National Assembly elections in Rajshahi.
He also said that we have had an exchange meeting with those who will contest the elections. Apart from this, law and order forces will take immediate action in case of violation of code of conduct and any kind of violence. That instruction has also been given.
Election Commissioner Rasheda Sultana, Election Commission Secretary Md Jahangir Alam, Rajshahi Range DIG Anisur Rahman, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Biplab Bijay Talukdar, Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed were present.
