The Tripura people of Bandarban celebrated Nobanno festival in various events

On the occasion of Tripura’s Nobanno festival,Maikta Cham Panda and folk cultural festival celebrated in Hatibhanga Para area of Bandarban Sadar.The festival was celebrated on Friday (November 24) morning with a grand program at the Hatibhanga Para Community Centre.
Deputy Commissioner of bandarban Shah Mujahid Uddin was present as the chief guest in the event organized by Minority Cultural Institute and Bandarban Hill District Council and Ministry of Cultural Affairs.Bandarban Minority Cultural Institute Director Mong Nu Ching presided over the event.
Bhdc member Siyong Ong Mro,Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md.Fazlur Rahman,Senior Assistant Commissioner Arup Ratan Singh,Executive Magistrate (NDC) Sheikh Abdullah Al Mamun,Rajib Kumar Biswas,Press Club President Aminul Islam Baccu and various government department officials and Journalist were present at the time.
It is known that after a long period of waiting,the people of Tripura living in the hills celebrate the festival of Nobanno at the beginning of the annexation of Bengal. On this day on the occasion of Maikta Cham Panda, “Mars procession, dedication of new crops of Jhum to the deity,prayers, display of Jhum farming tools,display of Tripura folk music,folk dance and discussion meeting held”.
