Prime Minister’s journey to Motijheel by metro rail

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made the history enjoying her journey to Motijheel as a first passenger by metro rail. She reached Motijheel in just 25 minutes from Agargaon. She started her journey from Agargaon at 2:41 PM on Saturday (November 4). Then she reached at Motijheel end at 3:06 PM. During this time, she exchanged views with media workers and traveling companions.
Earlier she bought metro rail ticket from automatic ticket machine at Agargaon station.
Prime Minister inaugurated the Agargaon-Motijheel section of MRT Line-6 of Metrorail. It is known that the entire metro rail will be opened for public traffic from Sunday (November 5). First, the metro rail movement of this section will start with the opening of three stations. The stations are – Motijheel, Bangladesh Secretariat and Farmgate.
Authorities said the trains will run in both directions from Uttara Uttar station to Motijheel. From 11:30 am the next trains will run only from Uttara to Agargaon. No train will run till Motijheel during this time.
There are a total of 17 stations on the 21.26 km metro rail track from Depot to Kamalapur. The stations are- Uttara North, Uttara Centre, Uttara Dakshin, Pallabi, Mirpur 11, Mirpur 10, Kazipara, Sheorapara, Agargaon, Bijay Sarani, Farmgate, Karwan Bazar, Shahbagh, Dhaka University, Bangladesh Secretariat, Motijheel and Kamalapur.
