Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sought prayers from Imams

Awami League President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sought prayers from Imams so that they can continue to serve the people in the coming days. Speaking as the chief guest of ‘National Imam Conference-2023’ at Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal of Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj yesterday, she sought prayers from the Alem-Ulama. Masjid-e-Nabbi Imam Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdur Rahman Al Buayzan of Saudi Arabia was present as a special guest. According to those concerned, lakhs of Alem-Ulama were present in some halls of Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Please pray that I can serve the people. And the development that Bangladesh is moving towards today should continue. We can make Bangladesh a smart Bangladesh in the future.’ She said, ‘We want the people of our country to live in peace. We want to make our country more developed and prosperous.’ Incidentally, the government is constructing a total of 564 model mosques and Islamic cultural centers in each district and upazila of the country with its own funding. As part of this project, 50 model mosques and Islamic cultural centers were inaugurated earlier in the first phase on June 10, 2021, second phase on January 16, 2023, third phase on March 16, fourth phase on April 17 and 50 in the fifth phase on July 30. . The construction work of the rest of the mosques is also nearing completion. According to the Islamic Foundation, 80,000 scholars and ulama with mosque-based mass education programs across the country. The government gives them an honorarium of 5,500 to 11,000 taka per month. These teachers are trained by Imam Training Academy. They will mainly attend this conference. Besides this, 20,000 more imams have been invited. In this event, the trained imams of the Islamic Foundation will be awarded. State Minister for Religion Mo Faridul Haque Khan presided. Tariqat Foundation President Syed Najibul Bashar Maizvhandari, Islamic Foundation Board of Governors Governor Dr. Mufti Maulana Kafil Uddin Sarkar Salehi and Maulana Ehsanul Haque Al Mojaddidi spoke. Prime Minister’s Advisor on Private Industry and Investment Salman F Rahman, Basra and Jute Minister Golam Dastgir Gazi Bir Pratik, Rupganj Upazila Awami League General Secretary and Upazila Parishad Chairman Alhaj Shahjahan Bhuiya, Kanchan Municipality Mayor Rafiqul Islam were present. Religious Affairs Secretary M A Hamid Jamaddar delivered the welcome speech.
