Scenic tunnel has been inaugurated in Bandarban.This 520 length and 25 feet wide tunnel built between two hills in the district town’s bus station area has already caught everyone’s attention.The tunnel connects the city’s main bus station and the new bus station at Hafez Ghona.The tunnel will also improve communication in the district towns.On the other hand,the tunnel has become a tourist attraction.

On Friday (October 27) The Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP) inaugurated the tunnel as the chief guest.After the inauguration Minister Bir Bahadur said,the new tunnel will bring great changes in the economic and communication system of the area.It will enrich the local tourism.The history of the liberation war and the development of the government will be presented to the new generation through pictures on the walls inside the tunnel.

The Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board has implemented the construction of this tunnel at a cost of Tk 11 crore.At that time Development Board Vice Chairman Md.Harunur Rashid,Additional Police Superintendent Md.Shah Alam,Mayor Md.Shamsul Islam,District Council Member Laxmi pada Das,former Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman and Transport Leader Abdul kuddus and others were present.

Same day,Minister Bir Bahadur inaugurated the construction of Ruma Bus Terminal and the new building at a cost of Tk 1 crore.

Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board implements this work.Later he laid the foundation stone of 7 works and inaugurated 3 works at a cost of 14 crores.Bandarban Hill District Council is implementing these works.
