1 minute silent’ program will be held in Dhaka city on Sunday. – Environment Secretary

Dr. Farhina Ahmed, secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, said that ‘1 Minute Silence’ program will be held in Dhaka city from 10:00 am to 10:01 am on October 15 to increase public awareness about noise pollution. At this time, he urged the people of Dhaka not to create any kind of noise. He said that everyone’s cooperation is needed to control noise pollution.
On the occasion of holding ‘1 minute silence’ program from 10 am to 10.01 am on October 15, the environment secretary said these things in a press conference organized by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, keeping the slogan “stop noise pollution, observe silent minute” on Thursday.
The Environment Secretary said that on October 15, 2023, special programs will be held at 11 important places in Dhaka city from 09:30 am to 10:00 am. He said the places are in front of Osmani Auditorium next to the Secretariat, Shahbag Mor, Uttara, Vijaysarani Mor, Mirpur-10 Roundabout, Gabtali, Mogbazar, Mahakhali, Gulshan-1, Basabo Buddhist Temple and Jatrabari Crossroads. At these places, Hon’ble Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Secretaries, Offices/organizations under the Ministry, scout members of schools and colleges, local public representatives, government offices/organizations officers/employees, traffic police and transport owners association members will be present with banners. At this time, they will distribute sound awareness leaflets, stickers among motorists and urge them to refrain from blowing the horn for 1 minute.
