Metro Rail to remain closed for 3 days
The operation of the metro rail will be temporarily suspended for three days to conduct system integration test ahead of the Agargaon to Motijheel section opening.
According to the authorities, the operation from Uttara to Agargaon section of MRT Line-6 will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, Friday will also observe its regular weekly closure.
MAN Siddik, the managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), disclosed this information during a press conference held in the capital, on Tuesday.
He said: “We are currently in the final stages of our system integration test. Our next step involves linking the Uttara to Agargaon section with the Agargaon to Motijheel section and integrating the entire system. This process requires three days, and thus, the metro rail will not be in commercial operation on October 14 and 15, in alignment with the weekly closure day on Friday.”
Siddik further mentioned that starting from next Monday, metro rails will resume their regular operations from the Uttara North to Agargaon section, adhering to the previous schedule.
