Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s publicity secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie was shown arrested in two cases and sent to Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Wednesday.

Police produced him before the court with seven-day remand prayer at 12pm.

Pervez Islam, Officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station, said there were warrants against the BNP leader in two cases filed in Lakshmipur and Dhaka’s Dhanmondi. He was arrested in the cases.

Earlier, law enforcers in plainclothes allegedly picked up Annie from his residence in Dhanmondi in the early hours of today.

BNP media cell chief Zahir Uddin Swapan told Jago News that the police took position at the BNP leader’s house around 1:30am and instructed him to report to the police station.
