The incident of DMP’s ADC Harun beating two central leaders of Chhatra League is personal, the police will not take responsibility for it. Chhatra League President Md. went to DMP office to meet DMP Commissioner Khandkar Golam Farooq to talk about this. Saddam Hussein DMP Joint Commissioner Biplab Kumar Sarkar said this in a briefing after the meeting between the two.

Biplab Kumar Sarkar said, “ADC Harun’s incident did not happen while performing personal, official duties. Investigation is going on step by step, report will be available soon. After that action will be taken.

BCL General Secretary Sheikh Wali Asif Inan was present during the meeting with the DMP Commissioner. Officials of DMP were also present.

ADC Harun beat Chhatra League organizing secretary and Dhaka University Fazlul Haque Hall president Anwar Hossain Naeem and Shahidullah Hall general secretary Sharif Ahmed. Harun mercilessly tortured the two leaders by arresting them at Shahbag police station in the capital last Saturday night. After this incident, he was withdrawn from the Ramana Division and attached to Public Order Management within Dhaka on Sunday afternoon in the face of severe criticism from everywhere including the social media. Later in the afternoon, the police headquarters transferred Haroon to the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) outside Dhaka. The DMP formed a three-member departmental investigation committee in this incident yesterday. It has been made the head of the Deputy Commissioner of DMP headquarters.
