Militant-terrorism spree under control in country: IGP

Police IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun BPM (Bar) PPM said that he is not feeling any pressure from the international community around the upcoming national parliament elections. He said, Bangladesh Police is a traditional institution. Once upon a time, militancy and terrorism were rampant in this country.
It is now fully under control due to the concerted efforts of the Bangladesh Police. He said, I believe that with the capabilities we have, we are able to face any law and order challenges in the upcoming national elections. We have that confidence.
He said these things in response to questions from journalists at the Bangabandhu Karna inauguration ceremony at Habiganj Police Superintendent’s office on Thursday at 11:30 am.
DIG Sylhet Range Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman BPM Bar, PPM and Habiganj Superintendent of Police SM Murad Ali were present on the occasion among others.
Earlier, the police chief was welcomed with flowers by the district police. A guard of honor is given. He then planted a tree sapling at the Police Superintendent’s office.
