Bangladesh cricket team could not avoid defeat against Pakistan due to extreme batting disaster. The Tigers simply flew away against Pakistan in the first match of the Asia Cup Super Four.

Bangladesh were bowled out for 193 runs in 38.4 overs in the face of the pace of Haris Rauf, Nasim Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi. Former and current captain Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan scored maximum runs of 64 and 53 respectively for the team.

Chasing an easy target of 194 runs, Pakistan, the host country of this year’s Asia Cup, won by 7 wickets with 63 balls in hand. Opener Imam Ul Haque and Mohammad Rizwan scored 78 and 63 runs in the team’s victory.

Hosts Pakistan vs Bangladesh in the first match of the Super Four of the 16th Asia Cup at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday. Bangladesh team captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and decided to bat first.

Opener Mehdi Hasan Miraj returned to Sajghar on the first ball of the second over of Nasim Shah’s innings.

Fakhar Zaman took a simple catch at midwicket to get Mirage back for zero runs when he flicked Nasim Shah’s short length ball. On his departure, Bangladesh lost their first wicket for 0 runs in 1.1 overs.

In the previous match, Miraj played a leading role in taking the team to the Super Four by playing an impeccable innings of 112 runs in a life-and-death battle against Afghanistan.

Mirage was dropped to open in the Pakistan match as well due to his success in the Afghanistan test. This all-rounder of the national team could not benefit on this day.

Opener Liton Kumar Das was unable to take advantage of Mirage’s dismissal after going down to bat. Lyton, who scored 16 runs off 13 balls with four boundaries, took a catch behind the wicket with a short length ball outside Shaheen Shah Afridi’s off-stump.

Opener Naeem Sheikh returned with a catch in Rauf’s hands while pulling Haris Rauf’s short ball. He returned 20 runs with four boundaries off 25 balls.

Tawhid Hriday was Haris Rauf’s second victim for the team’s 47 runs in 9.1 overs. Tawhid returned after being bowled by Rauf.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim took the lead of the team in the fifth wicket. Bangladesh returned to the game after handling the pressure on their responsible pair of 100 runs from 120 balls. Shakib completed fifty runs with the help of 7 boundaries in 53 balls to pull the team out of the hole.

At one stage Bangladesh’s collection was 147 runs for 4 wickets. After that, due to extreme batting disaster, Bangladesh lost 6 wickets for just 47 runs and were all out for 193 runs in 38.4 overs.
