Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP, said that, unable to control the people, the government is using the courts as a last resort as an instrument of inhuman repression. Courts, administration, law enforcement agencies have been mobilized to thwart the programs of opposition parties.
Rizvi said this in a statement on Wednesday. This BNP leader urged the leaders and workers of all levels of BNP and its organs and affiliated organizations to make the mass march program a success.
In a statement, the senior joint secretary general of BNP said that a mass march will be held in the capital next Saturday under the initiative of Dhaka Metropolitan North and South BNP in order to succeed in the 1st phase of the movement to bring down the government.
Rizvi said that the illegal Awami government has jumped on the anti-democracy party to sustain its existence. National leader Khaleda Zia and Tariq Rahman, along with BNP general secretary and important national leaders and activists are now being sentenced and imprisoned by the subordinate court.
Those who are demanding free and fair elections are victims of Sheikh Hasina’s revenge.
Law, judiciary, courts, administration, police are all united and continue to attack pro-democracy forces including BNP. The government is now using the courts as an effective weapon, unable to bring the oppressed pro-democracy leaders to their knees in the path of violence, and has started to punish them.
This leader of BNP also said that dengue has spread widely throughout the country including Dhaka. An average of more than 20 people die of dengue every day. Already more than 700 people have died across the country. Due to the indifference of the illegitimate government, the queue of dead bodies is increasing gradually. In India, the cost of going to the moon is 651 crore rupees, while the budget for mosquito control in Bangladesh is about 2000 crore rupees.
After the announcement of the one-party movement on July 12, like-minded alliances and parties including the BNP have organized marches, rallies, sit-ins at the entrance of Dhaka, mass marches and black flag marches in Dhaka. Last, on August 24 and 25, they held a black flag march across the country including Dhaka.
