Expatriate’s infant son. Ibrahim The police recovered his body with a rope around his neck and his eyes sticking out. He is the son of Dubai resident Masood Mia of Pathanpara village in Barura town area of Comilla. The victim’s cousin, Dubaiferat Al Amin, has been charged with murder.

On Wednesday, the police recovered the buried body of Ibrahim from a secluded place near Al Amin’s Nanabari in Pomtala village of Bhavanipur Union. The child was missing since last Monday.

According to locals, Jamal Uddin alias Ripon’s son Al Amin is the brother of expatriate Masood Mia. He lives with his parents in Pomtala village of Barura upazila. A few years ago expatriate Masood took his nephew Al Amin to Dubai. Recently there were disputes between uncle and nephew about various issues and fights also happened. Enraged, Al Amin returned home from Dubai about two months ago and planned to kill cousin Ibrahim to avenge the incident.

Jasmine Begum, the mother of the deceased child, said, “Her baby son Ibrahim disappeared on his way home from the madrasa last Monday around 11 am. After searching in different places, he was not found and was taken to Barura police station the next day. Locals found the body of a child half-buried in Pomtala area next to Al Amin’s house on Wednesday afternoon. Later I went there and identified the son’s body.

Zakir Hussain, uncle of the child, told reporters, “My sister-in-law Masood Mia took her nephew Al Amin to Dubai.” When there is a dispute between them on various issues, they return to the country. After that he kidnapped my nephew and took him about five kilometers away and brutally killed him and buried his body in the ground. We want exemplary punishment for this murder.

Barura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Firoz Hossain said that the child was strangled with a rope around his neck. His two eyes gouged out. Al Amin, the nephew of expatriate Masood, killed the child after he was taken abroad and in a family dispute. He fled the area. His father Jamal Uddin alias Ripon has been detained for questioning. The victim’s mother filed the case as the plaintiff.
