A dead body was recovered from a pond in South Surma area

From a pond in South Surma area of Sylhet. The police recovered the body of a man named Hafizul Islam (46).
The body was recovered from the pond of a house in Khittar Khalpar area of Mollargaon Union under Dakshin Surma Thana on Wednesday (September 6) around 11:30 am.
The deceased is the son of deceased Altaf Mia of South Surma Barikandi area. He is said to be mentally unstable.
According to police sources, while cleaning the pond in the morning, a person saw the body of Hafizul Islam floating in the water and informed the police. Later, South Surma police went and recovered the body.
Sylhet South Surma police station new officer in charge (OC) Shamsuddoha confirmed the matter and said that the deceased person was mentally unstable. There are no injury marks on his body. The body has been handed over to the family.
