A nephew was killed by his uncle on the roof of Sunamganj. The incident took place in Banayat village of Jawabazar union of Chatak upazila.

Sadir Ahmad (30) of Banayat village was killed. Manar Ali son.

On Sunday (September 4) at around 2 o’clock in the night, the incident of murder took place in a Shalish meeting.

After the incident, Manshab Ali, the son of the deceased Abach Ali, the uncle of the killer Sadir Ahmad, and others fled.

According to local sources, a Shalish meeting was held on Sunday (September 4) around 2 o’clock in the night. The killer, Manshab Ali and brother Sadi were both accused in a murder case two years ago. About 7 lakh rupees was settled with the plaintiff for the settlement of that case. As 40,000 rupees were less, his uncle told him that he would pay them after two years, and his cousin Sadi got excited. During the meeting, when the two parties quarreled and fought, Sadir’s father was hit and Sadir went to beat his uncle with a stick, then his uncle and other defendants punched and kicked Sadir and seriously injured him, and Sadir collapsed on the spot. He was then taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him brought dead.

Ranjoy Chandra Mallik, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Chatak Doara Range, said that immediately after the incident, we continued the operation to arrest the accused all night after the incident. I hope to arrest him soon. The body is at Sylhet Osmani for post-mortem.
